Leandro Trossard, an attacker for Brighton, acknowledged that he turned down Arsenal three years ago; according to reports, Mikel Arteta may now make a move to sign him.
This month, Arsenal is looking to add attacking reinforcements, and it appears that they are nearing an agreement to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk.
Additionally, Arteta was rumored to be enthusiastic about the prospect of bringing Joao Felix to the Emirates Stadium. However, with the Portuguese star expected to sign a loan deal with Chelsea, Trossard has been linked to a move to Arsenal.
Alex Crook, a TalkSPORT journalist, claimed on Twitter this morning that Arsenal is keeping an eye on the 28-year-circumstances old's at the Amex Stadium.
If you remember, he was said to be joining the team more than three years ago.
“I was in conversations with Arsenal. (But) a move to Arsenal or Atlético Madrid might not have been the right one,” he told Nieuwsblad.
“The trainer, Graham Potter, had come to the Belgium team hotel in Tubize three weeks before my wedding to come and talk to me. That he came for that made me feel good."
Trossard moved from Genk to Brighton in the summer of 2019. However, he acknowledged that when Unai Emery was still in charge, he had discussions with the Gunners.
He added“Brighton were nervous and pushed to (complete the) deal quickly. And Brighton is not the worst place to live.”
