Chelsea and Benfica's negotiations for Enzo Fernandez have "collapsed"

Enzo Fernandez, an Argentine midfielder, was the subject of negotiations between Chelsea and Benfica that reportedly failed.

Journalist from South America, Cesar Luis Merlo, revealed that negotiations between Chelsea and Benfica have broken down.

The player's £106 million release clause must be paid in full by the English powerhouses, according to the Portuguese club.

In order to circumvent financial fair play restrictions, the Blues had proposed a deal whereby they would pay the fee in three installments. They've also reportedly already submitted a bid of about £100 million, but they've insisted they won't change their current valuation.
