Joao Felix's red card against Fulham will reportedly cost Chelsea a significant £2.1 million, Reportminds Blog understands.

After joining the Blues on Wednesday, Joao Felix's red card against Fulham is expected to cost Chelsea a significant £2.1 million.

Felix made his debut for Graham Potter's team on Thursday in the 2-1 win over Fulham in the West London derby.

He was, however, sent off in his debut for a careless lunge on Cottagers defender Kenny Tete, despite his initial success.

On Wednesday, Chelsea made the signing of the 23-year-old player on loan for the remainder of the season.

To secure the talented forward, Chelsea, on the other hand, agreed to pay a £9 million loan fee for the short-term arrangement. While Felix is in west London, Chelsea will also cover his estimated £6 million wage.

This will cost the Blues £15 million for the remaining 21 Premier League games, including Thursday's defeat to Fulham.

Chelsea will have to pay £714,286 per game to have Felix in their team as they try to recover from a disastrous start to the season that saw them languish in the middle of the table.

Due to his dismissal for violent conduct, Felix will miss the Blues' Premier League matches against Liverpool, Fulham, and West Ham.

As part of the loan agreement, Felix's three-game suspension will cost his new club £2,142,858.

After the game, the Englishman stood by the Portuguese forward despite the costly mistakes he made on and off the field. These mistakes have made it hard for Potter to pick players, who is already under a lot of pressure at Blues.
