United advanced into the next round of the FA Cup on Saturday but Eriksen was injured.

After Christian Eriksen was replaced in the second half of our 3-1 Emirates FA Cup victory against Reading, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag stated that he must wait for the midfielder's diagnosis.

With a convincing victory over the Championship team at Old Trafford on Saturday, the Reds advanced to the fifth round of the competition. Eriksen's withdrawal due to an injury, however, put a damper on the evening.

Ten Hag was questioned about the Danish international's condition after the game.

“It’s always difficult to say in this moment so short after the game has finished,” said the manager, during his post-match press conference.

The Reading striker Andy Carroll tackled the Danish international, and he was unable to recover from the blow at the opening of the second half.

He added: “But it’s an ankle [problem]. We have to see what is the diagnosis, so it costs us a minimum of 24 hours before we know that and then I can say more.”

Eriksen was replaced by fellow midfielder Fred, who entered the game in the 57th minute and scored our third goal of the game. Carroll was later fired for two infractions that merited being recorded.

On Wednesday at Old Trafford, United will play Nottingham Forest in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semifinal. Erik will, of course, want to have Eriksen available.
