The manager of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, was pleased with his team's performance against Manchester City yesterday night, but there was one point when Albert Sambi Lokonga infuriated him.

The Gunners manager fielded a significantly altered lineup against Pep Guardiola's team. The addition of Matt Turner, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney, Fabio Vieira, and Leandro Trossad did not alter how well they performed in the first half.

After Lokonga took over for Thomas Partey in the second half, City, however, improved.

Everyone thought Albert Sambi Lokonga had the ability to develop into an elite midfielder at Arsenal when he stepped in for Thomas Partey in the opening few games of the season.

He is good with the ball in his hands, has a wide range of passes, and has the amazing ability to carry the ball into the opponent's third.

He still suffers a lot in other areas of his game, though. He has to work on his positioning since Martin Odegaard was upset when he was out of position at the end of yesterday night's game.

His decision-making is an additional aspect. Lokonga can distribute the ball from one end of the field to the other with ease, but occasionally he just misses the apparent pass.

In the second half of yesterday night, that happened once. The Belgian had the opportunity to assist Arsenal's assault by passing the ball to Bukayo Saka. But he decided to return to Tomiyasu.

Mikel Arteta was upset about that. We can understand the Spaniard's annoyance that the Arsenal manager "snapped" on the sidelines.

Following the injury to Thomas Partey in the game, the Gunners are in the transfer market in search of a midfielder.

Brighton Hove Albion Moises Caicedo has been suggested to be Mikel Arteta next signing.

Although, first £60m bid was rejected by Seagulls who have insisted the player will not leave in January. Arsenal have tabled an improved bid for the 22-year-old Ecuador international.
