During Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, Gareth Neville has changed his mind about which player would hurt Arsenal the most if Mikel Arteta took him out of his team.

Partey Neville

The Arsenal team is still flying high at the top of the Premier League. This season, they have only lost one game. In addition, they have scored 50 points in their first 19 games of the season. They also beat Manchester United 3-2 on Sunday to move five points clear at the top of the table with one game left.

With brilliant performances across the field, Arsenal's performance has been remarkable.

In light of how many fans felt when Gabriel Jesus suffered a serious injury at the World Cup, this feat is especially impressive.

In point of fact, Neville suggested that Partey's performances have recently caught his attention.

“We asked that question earlier on in terms of which player if you took them out the Arsenal team would do the most damage if they lost them and you probably would have said Jesus a few weeks ago but Nketiah has been unbelievable,” he told Monday Night Football.

“If I looked at them now, I think I would say Partey, having watched them in the three games since Christmas."

Partey is on track to play more football this season than in either of his previous two campaigns at the Emirates, which is not surprising.

This season, the 29-year-old has started 16 games. He managed 23 starts last year. Additionally, 18 was the previous year. Since his move for £45 million, injuries have undoubtedly been a problem.

He provides Martin Odegaard, Granit Xhaka, and even Oleksandr Zinchenko with a sense of balance on the team, allowing them to move forward.

He added: “Honestly, in these three games I’ve seen live since Christmas I just think he’s holding a lot together in terms of the glue between the back four and Odegaard and the strikers.”
