Arsenal's head coach Mikel Arteta has revealed that his new signing Leandro Trossard can cope with his style of play despite his age.
The Gunners have one the youngest squad in the Premier League with just three players above 28 years old.
It appears that Arsenal have been investing in the youth with signings of Albert Sambi, Nuno Tavares, Fabio Vieira, Martin Odegaard, Marquinhos who are below 25 years old.
Arteta added Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko who arrived from Manchester City in the summer due to their experiences.
Arsenal are currently sitting on top of the Premier League table so far, with five points gap between themselves and second placed Manchester City.
The Gunners signed Leonard Trossard from Brighton Hove Albion, becoming the Arsenal's first January transfer.
Trossard is 28-year-old and many could have questioned Arteta's decision to sign the Belgian international for £27m on four and half years deal.
While speaking to the media, Mikel Arteta said that the club can accommodate him, he said: "Leandro Trossard's age is not a problem, the squad can absorb a player of 28 years old. With the right experience, right versatility, right quality"
"It is not that we had to sign 20, 21, 22 year olds for the next five years. That is not the plan".
Reportminds Blog understands that Trossard will wear shirt no 19 at Arsenal. He is expected to make his debut this weekend against Manchester United.
The north London side will host Red Devils at the Emirates stadium pọn Sunday evening at 5:30pm GMT.
