Real Madrid supporters were incensed by Aurelien Tchouameni on Thursday night when it was discovered that he attended an NBA game in Paris as his team narrowly won the Copa del Rey.

The France international was spotted at the courtside watching the basketball game between Chicago Bulls vs Detroit Pistons.

The Los Blancos midfielder posted a groveling apology to the team's supporters on Twitter, admitting he had not "done the right thing."

Carlo Ancelotti's disagreement with his winger Rodrygo during the 3-2 victory over Villarreal was of particular note, however he later rejected rumors of a grudge.
Tchouameni sustained an injury in a LaLiga encounter against the same opponents earlier in January.

He wasn't scheduled to play on Thursday night, so it's apparent that his supporters felt he ought to be there to support his team.

The Chicago Bulls defeated their fierce rivals the Detroit Pistons 126-108 at the Accor Arena in Paris with the French midfielder in the crowd as he watched the game from the court side.

Tchouameni apologized on Twitter after facing criticism for his choice, writing: 'I apologise to my club, the coaching staff, my teammates and the Madrid fans for my presence at an event at a time when we were at stake in the Cup.

'I have been attentive at all times to what was happening in Villarreal, but I have not done the right thing. Very sorry.'
