According to reports, football player Lionel Messi will extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain by one year this week.
The Argentine's current contract expires at the conclusion of the current campaign, and there have been rumors linking him to a reunion with his former team Barcelona.
According to Reportminds Blog, Messi promised PSG last month that he would sign a new contract with them.
The 35-year-old will sign a new one-year contract "until June 30 2024 as early as this week," according to Spanish publication Marca.
Before the World Cup break, Messi had scored 12 goals in 19 games for the French champions.
Messi made an emotional transition from Barcelona to PSG in 2021. Messi scored 11 goals in 34 games during his rookie campaign, but it took him some time to feel at home at the club even though the French team won the Ligue 1 title back.
The World Cup winner, however, has already outperformed his performances and statistics from last season, scoring 12 goals in 19 games prior to the World Cup break
