Antonio Cassano, a former Real Madrid striker, has stated that he has been impressed by Victor Osimhen, but he believes Inter Milan hitman Lautaro Martinez has more quality.
Osimhen has been spectacular for Napoli this season, but Cassano is not entirely convinced.
Since last season, Osimhen, a hitman for the Super Eagles, has been one of Italy's best strikers. Last season, the Nigerian international played in 27 league games and scored 14 goals.
He has scored ten goals in 13 Serie A games this season, making it even better.
In the meantime, Lautaro Martinez, a star player for Inter Milan, hasn't been at his best since last season. In Italy, the Argentine hitman has established a name for himself. At Inter Milan, he won the League twice.
In 35 games this season, he scored 21 times. In 17 Serie A games this season, he has struck eight times.
Cassano, a former attacker for Roma and Real Madrid, has been impressed by Osimhen. However, Martinez, in his opinion, is just a notch above Osimhen.
“If we talk about the state of form, obviously Osimhen is the best in the league,” Cassano told Napoli Magazine.
“But in terms of absolute quality, the strongest is Lautaro Martinez. If I had to choose Between the two, I’d take the Argentine who is very strong, has quality, and moves well.”
