Following a heated altercation between the manager and the Portuguese player, Joao Cancelo has been instructed by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola to quit the club.

With the Etihad landlords, Cancelo has won back-to-back Premier League championships and one Carabao Cup triumph and has been a vital member of the City team.

After returning from the World Cup in Qatar, the 23-year-old, who started just three of the team's 10 games, lost Guardiola's favor.

According to The Daily Mail, there was a major altercation between the Portuguese and his manager, Guardiola.

The incident occurred at the team's practice facility, and the defender is alleged to have turned into a disruptive teammate under Pep Guardiola.

The 28-year-old reportedly lost his cool after not being included in the starting lineup for their FA Cup victory over Arsenal on Friday.

After reaching a "breaking point" with the Spaniard, Cancelo allegedly threatened to quit the Etihad Stadium.

Cancelo paid £60 million to move from Juventus to City in 2019. He played 154 games for the team, scoring nine goals and dishing out 22 assists.
