Luis Suarez, a striker for Uruguay, is thrilled to have signed for Brazilian Serie A team Gremio on a free transfer.
On Saturday, Suarez agreed to a contract with Gremio that would keep him with the team through the end of 2024, Reportminds Blog understands.
On January 17, Suarez is anticipated to make his Gremio debut against Sao Luiz.
In July of last year, the 35-year-old went back to his first club, Nacional, but only stayed for three months.
During his second stint with Nacional, the former Barcelona and Liverpool attacker scored eight goals in 16 games, helping the team win the Uruguayan championship.
Suarez responded to joining Gremio by tweeting via his Twitter account that he is getting ready for the upcoming challenge.
“Preparing for this beautiful challenge at Gremio, I’m excited to be there and enjoy it," Tweeted the former Atletico Madrid star:
