Real Madrid's poor Superclasico loss to Barcelona in Riyadh has alarmed the team, which has had a difficult start to the year.
Los Blancos have largely failed to impress since their return to action at the end of last month, and head coach Carlo Ancelotti has demanded that his players perform better since Sunday's defeat in the Middle East.
Federico Valverde started on the right side of the front three against Barca. Rodrygo replaced the terrible Eduardo Camavinga in the second half, moving Valverde back into the midfield position. The two players represent the club's options on the right flank alongside Marco Asensio, and Fichajes asserts that Ancelotti is eager to improve that section of the team.
Raheem Sterling has struggled with form since moving to Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer. Even though Sterling has played under the new head coach, Graham Potter, on a regular basis, in 15 Premier League games, he has only scored four goals and provided two assists.
Sterling's poor form has not stopped Ancelotti, who wants Real Madrid to sign him in the summer, from doing so. Since Asensio is likely to leave at the end of his contract, the Italian wants Valverde to only play midfield. Rodrygo would be the only player on the right wing.
Chelsea may make Sterling available for transfer with the addition of Mykhaylo Mudryk, and Real Madrid may take advantage of this opportunity.
