Manchester United boss Erik Den Hag has finally revealed reason he has been playing Luke Shaw as a center back.
The English international is a left footed player who plays as the left side of defense, but in the last two games ha played center back.
Ten Hag noted after Shaw's performance against Nottingham Forest that it appeared as though he had been playing the position all his life. As a result, Shaw was kept in the starting lineup when Martinez was unable to travel with the team to Wolves.
Shaw was a center-back on the left side of the defense, as Ten Hag has already mentioned.
The reason for this is that he has a left foot, whereas all of United's other options, including Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, and Victor Lindelof, have right feet.
He told United's internal media earlier in the season: "Because the left-footed are better orientated on the left side, in possession you then have better angles."
