Piers Morgan took to social media to defend Cristiano Ronaldo after fans said that the 37-year-old player's career was "finished" after he moved to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Following his scathing and contentious TalkTV interview with Morgan, Ronaldo left Manchester United in November and signed a £175 million-per-year contract with Al-Nassr.

Morgan disagreed with the notion that Ronaldo's decision to join the Saudi Arabian team meant that his career was "finished." "The biggest transfer deal in football history to become the world's highest-paid athlete," he said of Ronaldo's deal.

In December, the Portugal international made the decision to commit to an Al-Nassr contract worth £175 million per year.

Al-Nassr is one of Saudi Arabia's most successful clubs. They have won the top flight nine times, with their most recent victory coming in 2019.

A football fan took to Twitter to discuss Ronaldo's status as an elite athlete. They wrote: 'Thoughts on Ronaldo being finished?'.
Morgan responded: 'Last time I checked, Cristiano had just signed the biggest transfer deal in football history to become the world's highest-paid athlete at the age of 38, playing in the only country to beat World Champions Argentina in the World Cup. That's my kinda finished.'

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo is yet to make his debut for Al Nassr as he's currently serving a two match ban which was served by the English FA while he was at Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo was sanction for his mis conduct at a fan of Everton, where he alleged smashed the phone of the fan due to his frustration on the night against the Toffees.
