Yesterday was a day to forget for Spurs as they fell to Arsenal, their bitter rivals, 2-0.

The team led by Antonio Conte got off to a sluggish start, as they have all season, and gave up two goals right away. Hugo Lloris made a terrible error that led to the first goal, and Martin Odegaard produced an incredible goal from outside the box for the second.

When Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli crossed the field to take a corner during the match, he shook hands with Richarlison, another countryman, who was warming up on the sidelines. However, Richarlison declined the handshake, making the Arsenal player uncomfortable.

He has since apologized and stated the reason he declined Martinelli's handshake.

The Brazilian said: “I’m apologising to him. Like it or not, he’s my team-mate. It’s part of the game, it’s a derby, we were hot headed.”

After the game, Richarlison and Aaron Ramsdale, the goalie for Arsenal, got into a fight.

When Ramsdale went to celebrate in front of the supporters who had been jeering him after the final whistle, unrest began to develop.

Before losing control of his fury and beginning to push the goalie in the head, Richarlison stepped over to the keeper.

The supporter swoops in to attack as Ramsdale is bending over to get his water bottle from behind the goal as he marches away.

The fan steps over the hoarding and kicks out at the Arsenal goalie, missing the stewards.

The Tottenham star point-blank refused to accept the gesture

The offender scurries back up into the stand into the throng while attempting to cover his face with a scarf when a steward pushes the spectator away.

Then, players from both sides rushed over to try and defuse the tense situation, though a few engaged in physical combat.

Richarlison would later slam Ramsdale as “disrespectful”, saying: “What I really didn’t like was their goalkeeper going to celebrate in front of our fans.

“It’s kind of disrespectful to our fans, he has their fans, he has to go celebrate with their fans, not be cute with our fans.”

And on the incident with Martinelli, he added: “It was a foul there that the referee ended up giving, we were close to the move, in my opinion it wasn’t, I told him he was diving a lot, so I didn’t shake his hand.
