Teams will be randomly assigned to 12 groups of four and five teams to qualify for the Euros. The second-placed teams will either qualify directly or take part in play-off matches, according to a statement, whilst the group winners of the European qualifications will be immediately admitted to the competition.
UEFA wrote on its official website that "no change has been proposed for the UEFA EURO final tournament, which will still feature 24 teams".
Additionally, UEFA stated that the 2023 Super Cup will move from Kazan, Russia, to Athens, Greece. On August 16, the match will take place at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium.
The 24-team model would probably result in the occasional miss, whereas a 32-team system would have basically guaranteed that all heavyweight European nations could glide into the competition.
The Netherlands, Croatia, Spain, and Italy are contenders for the Nations League, which will be selected in June.
