Erik Ten Hag has spoken out about the dissatisfaction of the Manchester United players with Antony, the club's high-profile newcomer.
Speaking at a news conference before Manchester United's Carabao Cup semifinal match against Nottingham Forest, Ten Hag did not dispute that Bruno Fernandes and Antony got into a physical altercation.
The 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace last Wednesday was marred by an argument between Antony and Fernandes, who most United players apparently believe is merely regressing the team with his brand of football.
Many commentators and Red Devils supporters have demanded that the player be benched after their 3-2 loss against Arsenal on the wing.
Ten Hag said, “I think that can happen. They are both players who play with heart and, when they bring that in the game, they are at their best so it’s always a kind of balance.
“And always between players, sometimes emotions flare up but I think, in the second moment, they are already good with each other so that is not a problem. I think the players are definitely not frustrated with him.”
Meanwhile Manchester United could have a chance of winning their first silverware thus season if they can defeat Nottingham Forest in two legged tie in EFL Cup.
