The Burnley of the Championship is now lending the Netherlands international to Besiktas. The 30-year-old has been impressive lately, helping the Turkish team score 13 goals while making 18 appearances.

He also attracted attention during the World Cup by scoring twice against the eventual champions Argentina in the quarterfinals, and it appears that he is headed to Old Trafford to improve Erik ten Hag's attacking options.

On Monday afternoon, The Daily Star published a report stating that Weghorst would be traveling to Manchester this week for a checkup.

According to the source, the player will push through his ideal transfer, and United will pay Besiktas as compensation because of a loan agreement's no-break clause.
