On March 15, 2022, the lady, John Blessing, filed a lawsuit against the singer, asking for N20 million in damages and a declaration that the respondent, Oxlade, had recorded his explicit sexual acts without her knowledge or consent, violating her fundamental rights to dignity, privacy, and freedom from discrimination under Sections 34 and 37 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). and Article 5 of the African Charter on Human and People's Rights (Ratification and Enforcement), Act, CAP A9, LFN, 2004 In his ruling, Justice Oresanya said that the singer recording himself having sex with John Blessing in secret before it was posted online was? abominable, horrible, disgusting, and without class.

In addition to advising the singer to avoid doing such a thing in the future, the judge criticized Oxlade for disrespecting the legal process and accused Oxlade's attorney of helping him desecrate the courthouse.

 The judge said that the court would have given the respondent exemplary and aggravated damages much more than the N5 million that was agreed upon as a settlement for the alleged? cruel invasion of the claimant's privacy through the online/internet publication of an explicit sex tape involving the claimant and the respondent on February 9, 2022. The judge who entered the Terms of Settlement on January 11, 2023, ordered Oxlade to pay the N5 million damages the claimant had been awarded against him in two installments, each of N2 million and N3 million.

In addition, Justice Oresanya issued a perpetual injunction prohibiting the claimant from instituting or discussing the issues constituted in the claim on any platform or before any third party, as well as from initiating any further legal process or process in respect of the facts and matters giving rise to the suit.
