Real Madrid was frustrated by Los Rojiblancos for the majority of the game, but they were eventually reduced to ten men following the controversial dismissal of Angel Correa for an off-the-ball altercation with Antonio Rudiger.
Atleti took the lead through Jose Maria Gimenez despite having a man advantage, but they were later brought back by Alvaro Rodriguez.
A number of the decisions made by referee Jesus Gil Marzano infuriated Atleti, but the club wasn't the only one to vent on Twitter. Gimenez's opening assist came from Antoine Griezmann, who tweeted, “that’s enough!”
The Atletico Madrid forward has a history of speaking his mind on social media, and he was dissatisfied with the refereeing during the derby. This season, Alti has had a player sent off in each of the three Madrid derbies (Mario Hermoso, Stefan Savic, and Angel Correa).
