Despite his team's 3-1 victory over Arsenal on Wednesday night at the Emirates, Manchester City defender Nathan Ake thinks Arsenal are still the favorites to win the Premier League.
Despite the fact that Arsenal still has a game in hand, Man City won a decisive match against them to move atop the Premier League standings.
However, Ake acknowledged that Pep Guardiola's team won't get carried away with their current position and will take things one step at a time.
In response to a question about whether Man City are the favorites to win the championship, Ake told the media after the game: “No. They [Arsenal] still have a game in hand, so they still have three points on us, so we don’t want to get carried away.
“We’ll keep doing what we’re doing, go game by game and take it from there.”
Manchester City will host Nottingham Forest, who are bottom of the Premier League table at the Etihad stadium.
On the other hand, Arsenal will travel to Villa Park to face former manager Unai Emery on Saturday.
He added: “We knew beforehand it was going to be a very big game and we just wanted to win the game and get the three points and we did.”
