After Jack Grealish scored for Manchester City against Arsenal on Wednesday night as a result of Gabriel Magalhaes' error, Ian Wright criticized the goalkeeper.
After three Premier League matches, the Gunners are still winless. Everton defeated them 1-0 before Brentford held them to a 1-1 draw.
Earlier this week, Arsenal hosted Man City at the Emirates in their biggest game of the season to date.
With a 3-1 victory, Pep Guardiola's team moved to the top of the Premier League standings on goal differential, even though Arsenal still has a game in hand.
Man City took an early lead thanks to a goal from Kevin De Bruyne, but Bukayo Saka tied the score with a late penalty. In the second half, goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland decided the match in the visitors' favor.
A errant pass from Gabriel that Bernardo Silva intercepted set up the play that resulted in Grealish's goal. The Englishman was eventually introduced by Haaland, and his deflected shot found the back of the net.
Wright has since claimed that Gabriel's "inexperience" with Man City's second goal demonstrated this.
“We were very fortunate that he didn’t give away a penalty because he (Haaland) was offside but for me, the pass (for Grealish’s goal) is into nowhere,” Wright told Premier League Productions.
“City are setting traps for him there and as soon as they win the ball, bang, they get the ball back and Haaland’s awareness for a striker was very good because he could have easily had a shot but he’s made sure that he passed it on so that they definitely get the goal and go in front.
“For me, it came down to a bit of naivety and inexperience but they are the youngest team in the league and you’re going to get those type of mistakes. For me, Gabriel doesn’t know where it’s going. That’s going to be a problem and it was.”
