Attempted kidnapping of a man in Anambra results in the death of a woman by stray bullet

As suspected kidnappers try to kidnap a man in Anambra, a woman is killed by a stray bullet.

In the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, near the Enugu/Awka/Onitsha old road, a woman who has not been named was killed by a stray bullet fired by suspected kidnappers.

Punch asserts that before the deceased was struck, the bullets were aimed at an abduction victim who was eluding his captors.

The incident happened on February 14, 2023, at around 9 p.m. while the owner of a Honda Crosstour SUV was being chased by the alleged kidnappers.

According to a source, the car owner fled from the alleged kidnappers, crashed into an electric pole next to the road leading to Our Lady's Industrial Centre, jumped out, and ran away.

Despite succeeding in escaping, the woman who was standing by the roadside was killed by one of the suspects' stray bullets.

The incident was confirmed by Sani Armed, a divisional police officer at Ogidi, who also stated that the deceased's body had been transported to a nearby morgue while inquiries were ongoing.
