FIFA announced final THREE for FIFA Men's player of the year

FIFA, the organization that governs world football, has revealed the names of the 3 nominees out of the 14 players who were up for the 2023 Best Player Award.

The FIFA announced 14 football stars for the prestigious award in January, as you may remember. They are: Julián Alvarez, Jude Bellingham, Karim Benzema, Kevin De Bruyne, Erling Haaland, Achraf Hakimi, Vincius Junior, Robert Lewandowski, Sadio Mane, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Neymar, and Mohamed Salah.

FIFA has announced their shortlist for the award in a post on their social media space in Friday 10th of February 2023

1. Lionel Messi - The Argentine national team won the 2022 FIFA World Cup under the direction of Lionel Messi, a striker for Paris Saint-Germain. At the competition, he was also named Player of the Tournament. In addition, he and PSG last year won the French Ligue 1.

2. Karim Benzema, a striker from France, excelled for Real Madrid in his first season there. He helped the Spanish La Liga team win the Spanish championship and helped the Madrid-based club win the UEFA Champions League. Additionally, he was named the top scorer in the UEFA Champions League as well as the Spanish La Liga.

3. Kylian Mbappe - The French attacker Kylian Mbappe excelled for Paris Saint-Germain last season. He was named the best player in Ligue 1 for the entire season in addition to winning the French Ligue 1. At the FIFA World Cup in 2022, he led the French national team to a second-place finish. He also had the most goals scored at the World Cup.
