Gabriel Jesus may rejoin the first team before the end-of-March international break, according to reports from Arsenal.
The 25-year-old had a successful start to the 2022–23 season after moving to the Emirates Stadium from Manchester City last summer, recording five goals and seven assists in 20 appearances across all competitions.
Jesus, however, hasn't appeared for the Gunners since November 12 due to a knee injury he suffered while representing Brazil at the 2022 World Cup.
Jesus underwent successful knee surgery toward the end of last year, and he has since been recuperating at Arsenal's London Colney training facility.
During a conversation with UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov at the Emirates on January 22, the striker suggested that he might be able to return from injury within the next "four or five weeks." This was after Arsenal defeated Manchester United 3-2.
Saturday's Premier League match between Arsenal and Leicester City ended in a 1-0 victory for Arsenal. Mikel Arteta gave an encouraging update on Jesus's progress.
Before the start of the international break at the end of March, the Gunners are hoping that Jesus will rejoin the first-team squad.
Arsenal has six games to prepare for in March, with their final match at home against Crystal Palace on March 19 coming before the start of the international break.
After that, the Gunners will have to wait 13 days before they can play again, on April 1 at home against Leeds United.
