Due to an injury, Reinildo Mandava, a star player for Atletico Madrid, will miss the rest of the 2022–2023 campaign.

Under Diego Simeone this season, the Mozambican international has cemented himself as the first choice at left back.

In the first half of Atletico's 1-1 La Liga derby draw at Real Madrid, the 29-year-old was stretchered off in pain after colliding with Los Blancos star Fede Valverde, prompting immediate concerns about the severity of his injury.

In his right knee, Reinildo has torn his anterior cruciate ligament.

The right anterior cruciate ligament in the defender from Mozambique, which was torn during the match against Real Madrid, underwent surgery.

Earlier today, the 29-year-old team mates visited him at the hospital after the surgery.

It's been gathered that Reinildo underwent the successful operation as he will begin his rehabilitation in coming days.
Following the pictures shared on official Atlético Madrid social media space, Antione Griezmann and Lemar were seen at the hospital.
