Harry Maguire misses Man U vs Leicester City clash due to knee injury - Erik Den Hag

Due to a knee injury, Harry Maguire is not included in Erik ten Hag's roster for Manchester United's match against Leicester City on Sunday.

Old Trafford hosts the Foxes at 2 p.m., and Ten Hag must choose his team in light of the Red Devils' upcoming Europa League second-leg match against Barcelona.

The 29-year-old has only made five Premier League starts under Ten Hag this season, most recently against Leeds United.

The United manager, however, has had to adjust for Maguire's absence, who will not participate against Leicester due to a knee problem.

Ten Hag made a total of five changes from the team that drew on Thursday in Spain, dropping Raphael Varane from the starting XI.

Before the game, Ten Hag gave the following explanation of his team choice:  'Harry [Maguire] is injured and you have to keep everyone fresh.

'You have to look at your opponent, technical wise, what can you do? Where can you beat them? With that approach, you try to make the best selection, of course.'

When Manchester United and Leicester City square off in the Premier League at Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes will assume the captaincy.

Newcastle United lost on Saturday, and Manchester City drew, so United will be eager to maintain its lead in the race for the Champions League spots.
