In advance of the match against Wolves, Jurgen Klopp gave a much-appreciated update on Darwin Nunez's condition and provided information on Luis Diaz's recovery.

Nunez missed the Reds' disastrous 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace over the weekend because he sustained a serious shoulder injury against Newcastle.

The Uruguayan took part in the 5-2 loss to Real Madrid despite receiving a painkilling injection, but Klopp revealed at Selhurst Park that the following day, the arm "couldn't move at all."

Nunez's length of absence and suitability for Wednesday's match against Wolves at Anfield were both unknowns.

However, the manager stated in the pre-game press conference that Nunez and Ibrahima Konate were able to train "completely normal" on Monday.
“Now we have to see,” he told reporters.

“I think for Ibou he had no issues since he was injured, we just wanted to give him more training time before we include him again. That should now be fine.

“Darwin we have to see. It’s the shoulder.

“It looked absolutely OK yesterday, but I don’t know before [training on Tuesday]. The people will tell me how he reacted to yesterday.”

Although the "decisive information" indicates that Diaz has not yet returned to full training, Klopp provided a positive update on Diaz's recovery from a protracted knee injury.

“Luis, I watched half an hour of the rehab session, out on the pitch individually, shooting, moving,” he explained.

“It looks all really good. But he was not in team training yet, so that’s probably the decisive information.”

While confirming that Joe Gomez is still sidelined, the Liverpool coach added that Thiago's hip injury will keep him out for a while.
