Kogi lawmaker, Jimoh Omiata dies in Lagos hospital

Jimoh Omiata, a lawmaker from Yagba who served in the Kogi State House of Assembly, has passed away.

Omiata passed away in the early hours of February 27 at a Lagos hospital where he was receiving treatment for an unspecified ailment,LIB reported. 

It was gathered that the state lawmaker from the Igbagun community in Yagba Local Government served two terms in the state House of Assembly and was the first person to ever be elected twice to the House from the council district.

Femi Olugbemi, chief press secretary to the speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, announced in a statement that the man had passed away.
