Adams Oshiomhole, a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, has been chosen to serve as the senator from Edo North's congressional delegation.
In order to defeat incumbent Francis Alimikhena of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who received 55,344 votes, Oshiomhole received 107,110 votes.
According to Benjamin Adesina, returning officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the former governor of the state of Edo won the election.
