Luka Modric set to stay at Real Madrid for another season

Luka Modric is one of the best midfielders in recent football history and has established himself as a modern-day legend at Real Madrid.

While residing in the Spanish capital, Modric has won five Champions League titles, among other accolades. He was awarded the most prestigious individual football award, the Ballon d'Or, in 2018 for his work with Real Madrid and Croatia.

He has been successful, but at 37, his career is about to end. After this season, there have been rumors that he wants to leave Real Madrid, with one possibility being a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East.

Diario AS, on the other hand, has made Modric's decision to stay with Real Madrid for at least one more season public. The veteran will likely play a smaller role next season if he resigns, especially if Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham joins, but he still hopes for a contract extension.

Real Madrid is reportedly eager to offer Modric a new contract, so expect a deal when negotiations begin.
