Thiago Silva, a 38-year-old defender has revealed that he will soon sign a new contract extension with the Blues.
The Brazilian international happens to be one Chelsea's best performers on the pitch this season.
Thiago told ESPNBrasil that negotiations for a new contract are going very well and will probably be finished in the next few days.
He disclosed that Chelsea requires him for the ongoing rebuilding process and is willing to assist with
"I am here to be able to help, they are young players, anyway. I know that, with my experience, I can help in this process of rebuilding the club, I'm here for that, willing to do this, however, I know that my responsibility is very great.
The former PSG defender is expected to lead the defense for Graham Potter side when they face Fulham this Friday.
He added: "We are talking about it [new Chelsea contract], everything will probably happen in the next few days. My intention, and that of the club as well, is to stay together. I know that the club needs me right now.
