Ex Chelsea star John Terry mocks Piers Morgan with brutal dig about Arsenal going missing for 20 years

Piers Morgan was cruelly mocked by John Terry when he said that Arsenal "went missing for 20 years."

On Wednesday, Morgan, an Arsenal supporter, boasted on Twitter about the Gunners' lead in the Premier League. He criticized Chelsea for spending more than any other European club combined in the January transfer window, £323 million.

The caption that Morgan added to the image of the Premier League standings read, "Reminder to Chelsea fans:“Reminder to Chelsea fans: we’re top of the League, you’re 10th, and we’re 21pts ahead of you with a game in hand. So spend all the gazillions you want but what you REALLY need to buy is a telescope to look up at Arsenal.”

Terry, a former Chelsea player who went on to win 17 trophies there, was not amused. In response, the former captain asserted that in retirement, he has experienced greater success than the Gunners have on the field.

“You have gone missing for 20 years! And you still have a long way to go… I have won more trophies since I retired playing gold than Arsenal have,” he savagely replied, with an added golf emoji for good measure.

That prompted the journalist and TV host to respond via Twitter: “Pipe down ‘Tiger’ Terry… it was only 18 years ago that Arsenal went unbeaten in a whole League season (incl stuffing Chelsea, led by you, home & away…) So the only thing that’s ‘missing’ is the word Invincible’ on your CV….”.

Arsenal's pursuit of Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk was sabotaged by Chelsea, and the rivalry between the two London clubs has intensified.

Todd Boehly, owner of the Blues, agreed to a deal worth £88 million at the last minute, despite the fact that the Gunners were the favorite to sign the youngster.

Raphinha, Gabriel Jesus, and Moises Caicedo were all signed by Chelsea and Arsenal in January. However, Arsenal's shifting fortunes under Mikel Arteta, with the Gunners currently leading the league and the Blues struggling under Graham Potter, may be reflected in Chelsea's extravagant spending.

At Stamford Bridge in November, Arteta's team defeated Chelsea 1-0. On April 29, they will meet once more in a contest that is sure to be exciting.
