Chelsea was accused of making fun of Arsenal on Transfer Deadline Day by selling Jorginho to their rivals in north London.
The Italian midfielder moved to the Emirates from Stamford Bridge for approximately £12 million.
He signed an 18-month contract with Mikel Arteta's squad, which includes an additional year's option, despite the fact that his Chelsea contract was set to expire in the summer.
Jorginho is certainly not the first player in recent history to play for both Arsenal and Chelsea. Others who have done so include Petr Cech, David Luiz, Willian, Olivier Giroud, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
However, this does not mean that their competition has diminished.
This was made clear by Chelsea' statement on Tuesday following Jorginho's official transfer to Arsenal.
A player who had been with the Blues for four and a half years received a note from the team saying thank you.
However, they couldn't help but criticize Arsenal.
In the second paragraph, the statement read: “Many of Jorginho’s best performances came in European competition. He starred in Baku at the end of his first season when we thumped Arsenal 4-1, and the midfielder played a pivotal role en route to Champions League glory in 2021, starting all but one of our knockout games as we conceded just twice and shut out Manchester City in the Porto final.”
