Manchester United defeat Newcastle to lift the EFL Cup as Erik Den Hag wins first trophy as coach of Red Devils

Manchester United defeated Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley to end a six-year trophy drought.
Casemiro scored the game's first goal with a header in the 33rd minute, and six minutes later, Marcus Rashford made it 2-0 with a deflected shot as Erik ten Hag won his first championship as manager of Manchester United.
Casemiro, a midfielder, headed in a free kick from the left in the 33rd minute.

Sven Botman deflected Rashford's shot, which looped over Newcastle goalkeeper Loris Karius in the 39th minute.
Erik Den Hag has lifted his first silverware for Manchester United as manager of the Red Devils. 
The Dutch boss took charge as coach in the summer after he left his role at Ajax where he spent over two seasons. 

Den Hag style and principles at United has reflected in the team's style of play with positive performance on the pitch of play. 

This season, United have qualified for the round of 16 in the Europa League, still in the FA Cup fifth round and third on the Premier League table.
