Darijo Srna, the director of football at Shakhtar Donetsk, joked that he would buy Chelsea star Mykhaylo Mudryk back from the team because the player is "not in a good mood" there.
Since his high-profile transfer to Stamford Bridge in January, when the Blues defeated London rivals Arsenal to sign him, the winger has failed to live up to expectations.

All indications initially pointed to a move to the Emirates, so Mudryk's transfer to Chelsea was one of the biggest and most unexpected of the January transfer window. Arsenal had spent the majority of the first half of the transfer window attempting to acquire his services, but due to their slow progress, the door was left open, allowing the Blues to enter and complete a deal.

However, since his arrival, Mudryk's contributions have not been as expected, as the 22-year-old failed to score or assist in any of his first four games. Despite Graham Potter's team struggling for consistency and form, he has yet to secure a spot in the first team.

Currently, despite being one of the best players in the world at his position, Srna, his former director of football at Shakhtar, has commented on his current situation and implied that he is unhappy.
“The market decided the price, not me or our president,” told the Football Ramble podcast when asked about the transfer. “Mudryk is one of the best players in Europe in his position after Mbappe or Vinicius then it's Mudryk.

"If someone wants to buy a player from Shakhtar they must respect us. We know how to sell players and how to buy players. He's from our academy, an amazing kid, an amazing player.

"Unfortunately, at Chelsea now he's not in a good mood, Mykhaylo as well, but he has all the qualities to be one of the best players in the Premier League in the next couple of years.

Later, he joked that if conditions do not improve, he would give him a way out by buying him back once the Russian-Ukrainian war is over.

"It's no problem, we will buy him back after the war,” he said. “We will buy him back after the war."
