Chelsea lost 2-0 to fierce London rivals Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, adding more misery to their Graham Potter era.
The Blues were wasteful once more, extending their winless streak across all competitions to six games. With just six goals in the Premier League since November, they haven't won a single game of football since January 15.
West London is in a dire situation, and it won't help if defensive anchor Thiago Silva is forced to miss time.
Since joining the team in 2020, the Brazilian has been nothing short of magnificent, and Potter needs him right now with a Champions League match that could be career-defining.
In the opening minutes of Sunday's match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Silva injured his left knee while making a last-ditch tackle on Harry Kane.
"Hopefully it's not too serious but I haven't spoken to the doctor enough to have a diagnosis yet," Potter explained in the wake of Sunday's defeat.
The defender attempted to carry on but decided to be replaced by Wesley Fofana.
Prior to their crucial Champions League second leg match against Borussia Dortmund the following Tuesday, the Blues are back in Premier League action when they host Leeds on the following Saturday. Silva may decide to skip the visit from Leeds because Potter will want him to be available for that match.
