Martin Odegaard is a key player in this revamped Arsenal team. During his time in north London, the Norwegian has continued to advance and is currently the captain of Arsenal.
In 20 Premier League games this season, Odegaard has eight goals and six assists, and his performances have led to comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne, the gold standard for today's playmakers.
One of Arsenal's best Premier League seasons ever is currently underway.
With a game remaining and a three-point advantage over Manchester City, the Gunners are currently in first place in the Premier League.
Naturally, if Manchester City defeats Arsenal on Wednesday night, they will reclaim first place in the Premier League, but Arsenal will still have one more game to play.
In response to the Kevin De Bruyne comparisons, Odegaard has now stated in an interview with the Evening Standard: “He’s someone I’ve watched a lot. We play in the same position and he’s one of the best in the world, if not the best, so it’s good to try and learn a little bit,” the Norwegian stated. “But I think we’re quite different as well.”
Additionally, Odegaard talked about Bukayo Saka's leadership development.“He can be loud when he needs to be,” Odegaard said. “He says what he wants and he’s taking more and more responsibility. People have this [impression] where they see a player and think he’s like this [all the time] but inside the dressing room people are different.”
