Thomas Partey Arsenal return hint dropped after meeting with Eddie Nketiah ahead of Aston Villa

Thomas Partey, a midfielder for Arsenal, missed the team's loss to Manchester City earlier this week and is questionable for Saturday's match against Aston Villa.

Due to a tight muscle that is not thought to be serious, the Ghanaian international was not included in Mikel Arteta's squad.

Players who suffer from muscle injuries frequently miss a number of games, but Arteta will be hoping that Partey returns quickly as the Gunners continue to contend for the Premier League championship.

Jorginho, Granit Xhaka, and Martin Odegaard started in midfield without the 29-year-old, and Arteta might use the same lineup against Villa.

If you recall, Thomas Partey missed Arsenal's loss to Manchester City on Wednesday night at the Emirates Stadium out of caution after experiencing a tight muscle.

The Arsenal manager gave a fresh update on Partey's fitness in his press conference prior to the team's trip to Villa Park as the club evaluates his condition ahead of the crucial match. Arteta stated:  "We have to assess him today again.

"He had some discomfort, a little muscle discomfort. We have to assess him this morning and see how he is."

This season, the 29-year-old has been a key component for Arteta, controlling the game from a deeper position and allowing Xhaka and Odegaard to have more impact in attacking areas.

The Gunners will hope to bounce back to victory when they face Unai Emery, former Arsenal coach the Villa Park.
