2023 Elections: President of France, Emmanuel Macron congratulates Bola Tinubu on his victory

Sen. Bola Tinubu, the newly elected president of Nigeria, has received congratulations from France's President Emmanuel Macron for his victory in the election on February 25.

 

 After presenting President Buhari with his Certificate of Return on Wednesday night, March 1, in his country home in Daura, Katsina State, the President-elect confirmed this to reporters.

 

Remember that Tinubu and his vice president-elect, Sen. Kashim Shettima, traveled to Daura with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) earlier on Wednesday after receiving the Certificate of Return in Abuja.

 Tinubu, in response to questions regarding the messages of congratulations he has received since INEC's announcement of his election as President-elect, stated

”Oh very many, many of that, in fact as far as Europe, the stock market reacted positively well, there was a goodwill message from Macron, the President of France.”
