Yesterday, Oleksandr Zinchenko won Arsenal's player of the month award for the second time in this calendar year. The Ukrainian has joked that his teammates won't be too happy about this.
In a £32 million deal last summer, the 26-year-old player moved to the Gunners from Manchester City.
Zinchenko is becoming one of the Premier League's top players with his stunning display with the Gunners so far in the campaign.
The 26-year-old has been giving excellent performances since the beginning of the season, but over the last six to eight weeks, he has really stepped it up.
Zinchenko has every right to receive two consecutive votes from Arsenal supporters for player of the month. The Ukrainian, on the other hand, appears surprised and makes a joke about how his teammates won't be too happy that he has won it once more.
The Gunners yesterday posted a hilarious video message from Zinchenko after the club announced that he was the Player of the Month.
He says: “Hi guys, hope you’re well. Thanks for voting me Player of the Month again!"
A real leader is the Ukrainian. One of the main reasons the Gunners are at the top of the Premier League standings is that he has completely altered the mindset of Mikel Arteta's young team.
Zinchenko is expected to start when Arsenal plays Fulham next on Sunday ẹ bung at 3pm GMT.
He added: “I know my teammates are going to kill me because they think that people who are voting for me, they don’t understand football.
“But anyway, forget about them! Let’s push together until the very, very end. Come on Gunners!
