Mohamed Salah entered an elite group after scoring his 50th goal for Egypt.
The Liverpool star has reached his latest milestone in a brilliant national career with the Pharoah of Egypt.

This month, Salah joined his national squad for AFCON qualifications, and his first game was against Malawi.

The 30-year-old led his team and later scored his first goal for Egypt since September, which allowed him to join a select group of seven players.

According to Squakwa, Salah became only the eighth African player to score 50 or more goals in men's international football with his first-time strike close to the penalty spot and helped Egypt achieve a 2-0 victory on the evening.

Godfrey Chitalu (Zambia), Kinnah Phiri (Malawi), Hossam Hassan (Egypt), Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast), Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon), and Asamoah Gyan were the six athletes to accomplish the feat before Salah (Ghana).

But, Salah's night didn't end with his own goal as he also assisted Omar Marmoush for Egypt's second goal to draw the game and guarantee first place in their qualification group.

Egypt won its first competitive game under manager Rui Vitoria, and it was a significant victory after Egypt had earned three points from two qualifiers in June of last year.

Less than four days before Liverpool's trip to Manchester City, Salah is likely to play the entire 90 minutes against Malawi on Tuesday. He did so on Friday as well.
