President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has congratulated President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his victory in the 2023 Nigerian Presidential Election, which took place on February 25, 2023.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress the winner of the presidential election that took place on Saturday, February 25.
At precisely 4.10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 1, Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Commission, made the final announcement after days of collating results from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. According to him, Tinubu received 8,794, 726 votes.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party finished in third place with 6, 101, 533 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party, his closest rival, received 6, 984, 520 votes. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has 1,496,687 votes.
Mahmood claims that the Certificate of Returns for Tinubu and his running mate will be issued by today, March 1, at 3 p.m.
