Jamie O'Hara, a former Tottenham midfielder, criticized Antonio Conte for pleading with Daniel Levy, the club's owner, to fire him.

When Saturday's Premier League match between Tottenham and Southampton ended in a 3-3 tie, O'Hara voiced her worries over the manager's tense interview.

With 15 minutes remaining, Southampton overcame a 3-1 deficit to tie the fourth-place Tottenham team at 3-3.

After the loss, Conte criticized his team, calling them selfish and unwilling to perform under duress.

Conte continued by criticizing club president Daniel Levy and owner Joe Lewis, claiming that throughout the 20 years the team was under their management, Spurs never achieved a victory.

O'Hara questioned why the former manager of Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Juventus was taking all the credit off of himself.

He said: “I don’t disagree with the comments about passion, the desire to win, the mentality of the players, but it’s how he said it, where he’s said it, and the timing of it.

“I can’t get behind a manager slaughtering his team when an international break is coming up and he’s basically saying to Levy ‘I beg you to sack me’.”
