"We are now the same Daddy" - Billionaire Tony Elumelu reacts after he lost his Twitter blue tick verification

Nigerian businessman Tony Elumelu has used his social media accounts to express his dissatisfaction with his Twitter verification.

Many prominent Twitter users are losing the blue checkmarks that served as identification proof and helped set them apart from imposters on the Elon Musk-owned social media site.

Elumelu claims that he no longer has his blue tick on the social networking site. sharing the tweet with the following caption: "Woke up to see that my verification tick has disappeared.
Wahala"

Meanwhile, Pooja, a well-known sports journalist, reacted by saying:
"We are now the same Daddy."

Twitter promised to remove the blue checks from accounts who don't pay a monthly charge to maintain them, but after repeated false starts, it started doing so on Thursday. Under the first blue-check system, Twitter had roughly 300,000 verified users, many of whom were journalists, sportsmen, and public celebrities. Late in the morning Pacific Time, the checks started to vanish from these people' accounts.

The cost of maintaining the marks varies from $8 per month for lone online users to $1,000 every month for company verification, plus $50 per month for each affiliate or staff account. As was the case with the prior blue check sent under the platform's pre-Musk administration, Twitter does not verify the individual accounts to make sure they are who they claim to be.

Musk has been attempting to increase income for the faltering platform since acquiring Twitter for $44 billion in October by encouraging more users to pay for a premium membership.
