After his Twitter blue tick was removed, Manchester City player Riyad Mahrez took to his social media platform to express his outrage.

The Algerian international seems to disagree with Elon Musk's decision to remove all blue ticks from listings that have not paid a premium.
In a tweet that he sent on his platform, Mahrez said that he would not be purchasing the premium.
"Already lost it once, not scared of not having it anymore 😂😂 I'm not paying for this weird ideas lol," he said.
You may remember that a number of prominent Twitter users have lost the blue checkmarks that served to confirm their identities and set them apart from imposters on the Elon Musk-owned social media site.
It has been learned that maintaining the marks costs $8 per month for individual web users and $1,000 per month to verify a corporation, with an additional $50 per month for each affiliate or staff account. As was the case with the prior blue check sent under the platform's pre-Musk administration, Twitter does not verify the individual accounts to make sure they are who they claim to be.
