AS Roma 1-1 AC Milan: Saelemaekers scores late equaliser to cancel Tammy Abraham 90th-minute goal (Video)

AC Milan played a score draw against AS Roma after Alexis Saelemaekers netted equaliser at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday. 

In the last seconds of AC Milan's vital Champions League match against rival AS Roma, Alexis Saelemaekers struck a thrilling equalizer to keep the Milanese giants in the top four of Serie A.

As they still had two ways to qualify for the UEFA Champions League the following season, José Mourinho's Roma team welcomed fellow top-four contenders Milan to the Stadio Olimpico with the intention of making a statement. Instead, the visitors, dressed in their customary all-white away jerseys, came the closest to scoring first. Rade Kruni was unable to direct a looping header toward the Roma goal after arriving late onto Brahim Dáz's clipped back-post cross. The Bosnian wasn't the only one to blow chances, as teammate Davide Calabria also missed the goal with a crisp right-footed attempt in the last seconds of HT.

Early in the second half, Roma found themselves in a tight position once again. In reality, Milan could have grabbed the lead when Saelemaekers missed a fantastic opportunity from within the 18-yard box. The large group of traveling supporters crammed into the Olimpico's corner became even more irate after the Belgian international failed to direct a first-time volley from Rafael Leo's chipped cutback goalward.

Roma scored after the game went into the 90-minute mark, with Tammy Abraham converting a perfectly timed finish after a devastating counterattack.

To score their own goal in extra time, Milan got off the ground. Saelemaekers, who earlier in the game wasted a nearly similar opportunity, came on in the 97th minute to steal the most unexpected of equalizers.
