Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido recently smashed yet another milestone in his illustrious career by having his most recent album, "Timeless," get the most first-day plays of any album ever on Spotify Nigeria and Boomplay.
This has increased the number of achievements the album has already made since Davido announced the arrival of his much awaited fourth studio album on his social media accounts early on Friday morning.
The 17-track album received 4.91 million streams on Spotify Nigeria on the first day of release, breaking Burna Boy's "Love, Damini" record of 1.36 million streams (July 8, 2022).
The album broke the previous record for the first day of streaming on Spotify by 3.61 million streams (4.91 Million streams).
The 17-track album includes Nigerian musicians like The Cavemen, Fave, Asake, DMW's newest artists, Morravey, and Logos Olori, as well as Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Angelique Kidjo from Benin, rapper Skepta from Nigeria, South African music producer/DJ Musa Keys from South Africa, and Jamaican dancehall/reggae singer Dexta Daps.
"Champion Sound," a tune with Focalistic's assistance that was released in 2021, is also included on the album.
