Erling Haaland celebrates scoring for Man City vs RB Leipzig

Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, has returned from injury, according to manager Pep Guardiola.
Erling Haaland is "ready" to return for Manchester City's Premier League match against Southampton on Saturday, according to manager Pep Guardiola, who will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Due to a groin injury, Haaland was unable to play in last weekend's 4-1 victory against Liverpool at home. But, the 22-year-old returned to training earlier this week, and Guardiola has now announced that he will be available for the trip to St Mary's Stadium.

"Erling trained the last two days, really good," the Spaniard said. "He will be ready."

Prior to the opening leg of the Champions League quarterfinal matchup against Bayern Munich next week, Guardiola said he was not considering how to manage Haaland's playing time.

"Bayern Munich is the last thought," he added. "It's Southampton. The Premier League is every day, every week."

In 37 appearances in all competitions this season, Haaland has scored 42 goals for City, including six hat tricks. The Norwegian also holds the lead in the Premier League Golden Boot race with 28 goals, six more than Tottenham's Harry Kane.

Guardiola has stated that while Premier League teams face increasing pressures, not even he is immune from being fired.

Guardiola thinks the mentality in England has changed since a record 12 managers have been fired in the top division this season, not including Graham Potter's choice to go from Brighton to Chelsea.
